MG Magnette ZB 1958 - 74k Miles Fresh 12 Months MOT On Sale Walk Around Video - please watch the video for a full description and information about this special car This a lovely example of the well loved MG Magnette from 1958. The car was sold by us to the previous owner and he has cherished the car in his ownership and recently traded her back in to us for another beautiful British classic. The car drives ever so well and benefits from servo assisted brakes and a twin electric cooling fan conversion, 2 x pancake air filters fitted to the carbs...otherwise the car is standard. The ZB is a 'Varitone' model and as such she has the few benefits over the previous version, the performance increased due to fitting slightly larger carburettors, the car is easy to identify due to the larger wrap rear screen. The Magnette is a very comfortable 4 door saloon car that enjoys excellent roadholding and positive steering and brakes. The B series 1498cc engine is married up to a positive 4 speed manual gearbox and enjoys a top speed of around 90 MPH. The Magnette was at one point the fastest production saloon car in Britain, it has always been a revered car and this one is truly a pleasure to drive. The engine starts at the first pull of the starter switch and sounds very good, the engine itself has been rebuilt around 5 years ago and still looks very good and is painted up and looks very smart and clean. The British Racng Green paintwork is in very good order and suits the lines of the car very well, the chrome is generally rather good....but it does shows its age in a few areas. The interior looks very original and the leather seats are very weathered and show all the cracks and marks of over 6 decades of use....but they still look great and very usable 'as is'. The wooden is good and everything appress to work very well. The carpets are also is good serviceable order. We tend to specialise is 'everyday working classics' and as such rarely offer fully restored show cars. This Magnette is an example example of the standard of cars we like to offer. She is no means a concourse show winner, but she is extremely well presented and a genuine credit to the previous owner.
